Pictures of the 2011 Grand Old Fourth celebration
You're invited to attend and participate in the Grand Old Fourth of July Parade and Community Celebration on Wednesday, July 4th, 2013.
Now in its 46th Year, the Grand Old Fourth includes a Pancake Breakfast, all-day Street Fair, Foot races (benefiting Bainbridge Youth Services), a Classic Car Show, Historic Baseball Game, Music, Food, Entertainment, a Beer Garden, and plenty of Family Fun - all capped off by the "Best Small Town Parade in America." The mile-long parade begins at 1 p.m. sharp!
Family entertainment includes kids' shows, pony rides, bouncy house, Big Purple Slide, miniature golf, the Kitsap Mounted Posse, and more.
The Grand Old Fourth is produced and presented by the Chamber of Commerce, with the help of dozens of volunteers and a handful of loyal sponsoring businesses.
The Street Fair is located in the Town & Country parking lot, on Bjune and Brien streets and in Waterfront Park. It features more than 100 arts and crafts, food, non-profit and information booths. The 10 x 10 booth spaces range from $65 to $310. The Street Fair is held from 9 a.m to 5 p.m. The Pancake Breakfast, benefiting the Bainbridge High School Boosters Club, begins at 7 a.m.
The Parade begins at 1 p.m. New for this year....Win $1,000 for the most Humorous Entry.
The John Ellis and Frank Buxton Humorous Entry Award. The $1,000 will go to a non-profit. If you are Non-Profit you get to keep the $1,000, if you are not a Non-Profit you get to decide who it goes to if you are lucky enough to win.
As in years past, we expect thousands of people to line the one-mile parade route to watch this wonderful small-town event unfold. Parade applications are just $25 for non-profits and neighborhood groups; $35 for commercial enterprises and/or politicians. There is no cost for military units.
The Classic Car Show will again be held. Last year, more than 100 vehicles participated and we expect a similar number this year. Applications are $20 per car.
Music and entertainment will be at the Town & Country parking lot stage and Watefront Park.
